Since inception in 2006, the investment banking unit has executed milestone transactions relating to capital raising and financial advisory, thereby establishing a solid track record in the investment banking space.

  • Girish Nadkarni Managing Director

    Girish Nadkarni brings with him over 23 years of rich experience in Investment Banking, ECM, and Institutional Equities businesses. An MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, Girish is also an Associate Member of ICWAI.

    His last stint was with Avendus Capital as Executive Director, where he was managing Equity Capital Markets (ECM) business, Institutional Equities business and leading the Real Estate industry practice. He not only managed several ECM transactions but was also involved in helping private companies raise equity capital from private equity funds.

    He has closed several marquee transactions and built strong relationships with investors in Hong Kong, Singapore, London and the United States. He also has deep experience and expertise in managing various kinds of capital market transactions such as IPOs, QIPs, Open Offers/Buybacks and Delisting.

    Prior to Avendus, Girish was on the Board of IL&FS Investsmart where he was heading the Institutional Equities and the Capital Markets business. He has taken over 50 companies public in the last 7-8 years prominent among them being Page Industries, Gateway Distriparks, Shoppers Stop, IL&FS Transportation Networks and Indoco Remedies.

    He has also helped private companies such as Value Budget Housing Corporation, Home First, Finance Co., Magicrete Building Solutions and Pennar PEBS raise equity from Private Equity funds.

    Girish Nadkarni has also worked in the past with ITC Ltd. and ICICI Ltd. He joined Motilal Oswal in 2014.

  • Mukund Ranganathan Executive Director - MOIAPL

    Mukund Ranganathan has joined as “Executive Director” in Investment Banking at MOT Office.

    Mukund holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and B. Tech (Electrical Engg) from IIT Madras. He has over 18 years of rich experience in Investment Banking.

    Mukund’s last stint was with Edelweiss Financial Services Limited as “Executive Vice President”, where he has worked on M&A, Private Equity and Capital Markets transactions.

    At Edelweiss, he started his journey as head of the PE Advisory practice and was responsible for all private equity and mezzanine transactions, as well as overseas issuances of convertibles and GDRs done by Edelweiss. Subsequently, he jointly headed the IB Advisory for M&A and Private Capital Raising. Mukund brings experience and proven track record of success which will be valuable for our organisation.

    Prior to Edelweiss, he has worked for 9 years with Morgan Stanley and JM Morgan Stanley.

  • Deepesh Patoria Director - MOIAPL

    Deepesh holds an MBA from Jiwaji University, Chartered Accountant, Company Secretary and B Sc in Mathematics. He has over 11 years of rich experience in Investment Banking across sectors specializing in equity capital market (ECM), private equity syndication (PE) and M&A.

    Deepesh’s last stint was with Avendus Capital Pvt. Ltd. as “Executive Director – Financial Advisory”, where he worked on all products M&A, Private Equity and Capital Markets. He was responsible for origination, relationship management and execution. Worked across sectors like Consumer, Industrials, NBFC, Pharma, Commodities, Hospitality, Chemicals and IT & ITES. He was leading ECM Transaction and setting-up Healthcare Delivery vertical and Investment Banking transactions for Market Leaders is small Industry segment (less than USD 20 mn transaction). He brings experience and proven track record of success which will be valuable for our organisation.

    He worked with companies like Avendus Capital Pvt. Ltd., IL&FS Investsmart Ltd. and TAIB Securities Ltd.

  • Nisha Shah Associate Director - MOIAPL

    Nisha is responsible for the execution equity capital market transactions including Initial Public Offers (IPOs), rights issue, buyback of shares, open offers as per SEBI Takeover Regulations, delisting of securities from the stock exchanges etc.

    She has more than 19 years of experience in corporate finance, advisory services, fund raising and equity capital markets. She has been responsible for managing IPOs of DCB, Zylog Systems, Shriram EPC, Archidply Industries, Pipavav Shipyard and MBL Infrastructures.

    Prior to joining MOIAPL, Nisha was a senior member of the investment banking team at Anand Rathi Securities where she was a part of execution of number of IPOs viz HCL Technologies, Tips Industries, Emami Ltd, Plethico Pharmaceuticals, Provogue India, Bombay Rayon, Hanung Toys and Textiles etc. She has also managed open offers, preferential issues, buybacks and delistings for companies including Alembic Glass, Raipur Alloys, Sea Lord Containers, TCG Urban Infrastructure etc.

  • Rajat Rawal Associate Director – MOIAPL

    Rajat is overall responsible for Intial Public Offering (IPO’s), Follow-on Public Offerings (FPO’s), and Retail syndication in Primary Market Distribution function at MOIAPL.

    He has overall 18 years of experience in Equity Capital Market, IPO, FPO distribution and Retail syndication in primary market. Prior to joining MOIAPL, Rajat has worked with ICICI Bank and Reliance Industries Ltd. Over the years, Rajat has been instrumental and involved in dealing with Promoters, Issuers, SEBI, Stock exchanges, Syndicate members and has a premier relationship with all major stake-holders in primary market. He has been responsible for syndication and distribution of Ashoka Buildcon, Tree house etc.

    Prior to joining MOIAPL, Rajat was a Product Head of Agency Channel Distribution at ICICI Bank where he had distributed number of IPOs viz Reliance Power, Mundra Port & SEZ, Power Grid HDIL, Omaxe ICICI Bank, BEML, Central Bank, Indian Bank, Binani cement Power Finance corp., First source etc. Rajat holds post graduate diploma in management from SLIMS Ahmedabad and CFP® from FPSB India.
